His long time best friend of 54 years, Wesley Shedler and Gregory Hodges for over 40 years (may he rest in peace - July 5, 2023) both were an important part of Larry's life and very dear to him. They shared and will cherish some very special memories.

Donna, Yvon and Mikayla,
I am so sorry to hear of Larry's passing. Donna, you and Larry were the first friends I met in my life and I will never forget that. I always say you and Larry are my oldest friends... but only in years, not in age. Larry was far too young... Tomato soup with rice is forever etched in my mind and I will fondly think of your family, especially now Larry, when I eat it. Rest peacefully Larry... never forgotten. xo

Larry was my first friend growing up, as he lived with his parents and sister Donna right across the street in Etobicoke. Larry loved all sports but especially baseball and hockey, and was a true blue hometown fan. I remember playing a lot of street hockey with him on our street during many off school hours. Life took us in different directions but I always saw him during early Spring when he would do my Mom’s taxes. He always bragged about his incredible niece Mikayla who he loved dearly. Larry would always text or call me at special occasions during the year like holidays and birthdays and ask about my sister Dianne, my Mom, or myself. Larry was a great friend that will be missed by our family. May he truly rest now.

When I think of Larry I can't help but smile, Larry had the biggest heart and the biggest smile to go with it. Always in attendance with his Gatorade drinks for the girls hockey team, always there to cheer Mikayla and her teams on. You will forever be remembered with great fondness Larry and deeply missed. Rest In Peace my friend xxx

Larry and I shared a strong interest in sports and both cheered tirelessly for the Blue Jays, although since moving west I was a fan (and still am) of the Edmonton Oilers and Edmonton Eskimos (now Elks). I remember as youngsters when the Kondos would visit at New Years on Strathcona Ave, my mother would lay out a big spread of Japanese delicacies, but Larry's favourite was Saba sushi, and she always prepared extra slices as Larry would gobble up more than his share. I usually had lunch with Larry whenever I visited Toronto (Japanese of course). He raved about Mikayla's accomplishments in golf, ice hockey, baseball.and academics, and know he will be sorely missed by her, Donna and Yvon. All of his relatives will miss his warm and smiling disposition.
