In Celebration of

Keith De Bruin

June 26, 1965 -  December 3, 2018

It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Keith De Bruin, 53, of Mississauga, Ontario, on December 3, 2018.

Born June 26, 1965, in Montreal, Keith Andrew De Bruin is the loving son of Arie and Francess De Bruin. After moving to Ontario in his early years, Keith graduated high school in Brampton and subsequently attended the University of Guelph where he received his Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Political Science.

He married Christine – his undeniable love, in 1998, who survives him today along with daughter Paige and son Ethan. Keith will also be remembered by parents Fran and Arie, and his in-laws Len and Nancy Gould. Keith proudly held a strong sense of community and giving back was important to him. In his 20’s he served as a mentor through the Big Brothers program. Many will recognize his ongoing contributions as a leader within Scouts Canada. Although he lived a busy life, Keith could always find time to give of himself.

A memorial service for Keith will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018, at 11 am at Turner & Porter Neweduk – Erin Mills Chapel (1981 Dundas Street West, Mississauga, Ontario, L5K 1R2). The family requests that people make the choice to not send flowers. Rather, Keith would be pleased to see those who would like to offer donations make them in support of Scouts Canada.

As family and friends grieve the loss of Keith, our hearts turn towards ways we can help the De Bruin family. As education was important to Keith, a GoFundMe campaign, accessible through the donations tab, has also been established to support Paige and Ethan in their post-secondary academic pursuits.

It's hard to imagine that a pitcher of sangria at Cliff & Norm's in Guelph, on a Friday afternoon would turn into three decades of incredible friendship. The best part? It just kept getting better...no matter what happened as we travelled that journey together...it always got better with you.

I love you, pal!

So sorry for your loss. I have thought of him everyday since his passing. I will miss him very much. Cheers to you my friend. I will not forget the times we spent together eating, drinking and most of all laughing over the years.
Christine, Paige and Ethan, I count myself lucky to have been able to call him my friend over so many years.
