In Celebration of

Katheryna Tataryn

October 9, 1926 -  August 28, 2017

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing into eternity of our beloved mother and grandmother, Kateryna Tataryn (née Sagan) on the feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God, August 28, 2017 in her 91st year. Born in Slyvnytsya (Sambirshchyn-Ukraine) and taken to work in Germany during World War II, along with many others after the war she was re-settled to England. There she met her future husband Mykola (+2010) and their two sons were born. In 1963 the family immigrated to Canada, settling in Toronto. Kateryna leaves behind her sons Taras with wife Nadia (Mychajlycia) and her mother Tanya Mychajlycia and Fr. Myroslaw with wife Marusia (Truchan); grandchildren Tamara with husband John (Galea), Andrew, Myroslava, Anastasia, and Aleksandra; near and distant relatives in Ukraine and Russia. We thank Fr. Mitrate R. Pankiw for his kind pastoral care of Kateryna. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter “Neweduk-Erin Mills” Chapel, 1981 Dundas St. W., Mississauga (just east of Erin Mills Pkwy) on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. Panakhyda will be held at 8 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be held at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 3609 Cawthra Rd, Mississauga, on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 10 a.m. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Education Fund of the Ukrainian Youth Association of Canada or offerings for Divine Liturgy.

May her memory be eternal!
