In Celebration of
Karen Leah Field
December 4, 1948 -
January 26, 2023
Field, Karen Leah (nee Norris) passed away peacefully at the Moir Family Centre on January 26, 2023 after a long fight with PSP and cancer at the age of 74.
Born in Toronto to John and Violet Norris, she grew up in Etobicoke. Karen met her husband, Frederick Theodore (Ted) Field, while skiing in Quebec. They were married in Etobicoke and lived briefly in California, before returning to Toronto where they lived with their sons Anthony, Michael, and Nicholas. Karen and Ted recently celebrated 50 years of marriage surrounded by family and friends.
Karen was a teacher, active member of the community, good friend, and excellent cook, but her family was her passion. She and Ted raised their children to be citizens of the world, instilling within them integrity, compassion and a love of knowledge. Karen loved dogs, Scrabble, Jeopardy, Star Trek, entertaining, and creating a warm home. She will be greatly missed.
Karen is survived by Ted, sons Tony (Karin), Mike (Maya), and Nick (Evelyne), and 5 grandchildren: Vanessa, Quentin, Clarice (Tony & Karin), and Elliana, and Alice (Nick & Evelyne).
A celebration of life will be held at Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W. on February 3rd. Visitation from 2-3pm, service at 3pm, followed by a reception.
