In Celebration of

June Hunter

June 7, 1971 -  September 30, 2019

Passed away on September 30th, 2019 at the age of 48. Daughter of Phillip Tippenskum and Mary Nakogee-Tippenskum. Beloved wife of Hamish Sr. and mother of Hamish Jr. (Emma), Julianna, and Roberta. Cherished grandmother of Isabella and Stephanie. She will be greatly missed.

June was born in Timmins, Northern Ontario in 1971. Her parents were both Cree First Nations from the Attawapiskat area. She grew up in Moosonee, Ontario and was the second youngest of eleven children. Growing up in such a large family, she developed a keen sense of humour and could hold her own in any situation. Her first language was Cree and her Indigenous culture was an important part of her life. She was a devoted mother to her children and so delighted to be a grandmother, family was always her priority.
