With profound sadness we announce the passing of June Drysdale (nee Watson), after a brief illness, wife of the late Donald Arthur Drysdale (1999). Deepest condolences to June's children, grand children and great grand children. My remembrances of June are of a person immensely gifted, compassionate and caring. Deeply curious, always wanting to know more about the world around her; her spirit was indomitable. I don't know if I've ever met someone who was at one and the same time so caring and giving and yet so strong and resilient.

I remember grammpa always called her "JB" and the reasons were clear. A classy, class act, June always reminded me of Audrey Hepburn. A wonderful sense of style and colour, she could pull off the best little black dress you'd ever encountered and make it look easy.

June could talk art, politics, gardening and Hastings gossip all at once. And that was in abundant evidence at Pat's 90th birthday! Ever the creative artist, she shared she would be starting a screen printing project when she got home. The photographs I have of that day show her face radiant with the love that comes from when family gathers. It is a look I will always hold dear and can only try to emulate with time and the lessons I've learned from her.

All our love and support during this difficult time, Jill, Gordon and Clayton

We only met June a few times but each of the meetings we found June to be a warm and friendly person, much the same as our mother. I know given her warm generous nature she will be sorely missed by all thoughts she touched. Bob and Syl
