In Celebration of

Julia Marie McQuinn

August 15, 2003 -  August 7, 2016

At the age of 12, in the arms of her parents and surrounded by the love of family, our sweet baby girl Julia peacefully passed away at Sick Kids Hospital after a ten month battle against Severe Aplastic Anemia and complications from her bone marrow transplant.

Julia was the much beloved daughter of Michael and Deborah and big sister to Matthew. She will be deeply missed by her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Our blackout baby came into the world two weeks late and left us far too early. She loved her family, her friends, her dog Molly, soccer, horses and catching frogs at the cottage. She lit up the room wherever she went and her absence has dimmed our world.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Sick Kids Hospital, in particular, the ICU staff and all the nurses of the 8th floor for their gentle and compassionate care. Many thanks also go to the Mother Teresa School community, Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services and all of our friends and neighbours for your immense support to our family throughout Julia’s illness.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter “Peel” Chapel 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy 10 N of QEW) on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m.

Funeral Mass to be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 1150 Monks Passage, Oakville on Monday August 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.

Cremation to follow.

A celebration of life for Julia on her birthday will follow at the Harbour Banquet Centre, 2340 Ontario Street, Oakville. Julia loved all animals and memorial donations, if desired, may be made to the Oakville and Milton Humane Society. If you can, please consider donating blood through Canadian Blood Services. There are a lot of children in that hospital that need it.

Dear sweet Julia. A beautiful girl that was taken much too soon. A very courageous girl that endured so much in the last year. My heart goes out to your family and hope that you are playing in a sun filled field with your dog smiling that contagious smile.

Eveñ though I have never met Julia I feel like I know her from listening to Trudy and Jim talk about their lovely grand daughter... I have followed your wonderful blog on Julias journey.. I am so sorry that things turned out the way they did and her battle was lost ...She fought like a warrior but the battle was just to strong for her little body... God Bless you and I hope you find peace in your heart knowing that Julia is happy, healthy and now pain free......... Find strength in one another and enjoy talking about the joy Julia gave you.... All the best to you and your families
