In Celebration of

Jozefa (Josephine) Sobkowicz

February 25, 1935 -  March 1, 2019

It is with profound sadness and loving memories that our family announces the sudden passing of Jozefa Sobkowicz who, with her loving family by her side, left us peacefully in her 84th year on Friday, March 1, 2019 in Toronto.

Jozia was born in Kobylowloki, Poland to Jozef and Anna Sobkowicz (predeceased) and it was in 1970, along with her daughter Bozenka, that she decided to begin a new life in Canada.

Jozia's strong Catholic faith always remained an integral component of her life. She was a kind, humble and compassionate woman who always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Jozia's selflessness was ever-present until her last breath. She always put the needs of others before her own and was most joyful when others were happy. She possessed a generous and deeply loving heart and her smile lit up the entire room. Jozia was admired, loved and respected by all who knew her. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, poetry, theater, music, crossword puzzles and watching hockey games with her grandson. To Jozia the most important thing in the world was her family. Her last words to her family were "I love you".

Beloved wife of Leo Richter (predeceased). Dearly cherished and loving Mamusia and best friend of Bozenka and her husband Ryszard Kuzminski. Loving and proud Babcia of her precious grandson, Matthew (Mateuszek). Jozia will be deeply missed, but always lovingly remembered by all her family and friends, both in Canada and Europe.

Wieczny odpoczynek racz Jej dać Panie, a światłość wiekuista niechaj Jej świeci na wieki wieków. Niech odpoczywa w pokoju wiecznym.
Amen

Dear Bozena and family,

Words cannot express how deeply we are saddened on the loss of your beloved mother.
We will always remember her as a thoughtful ,kind, grateful ,appreciative ,intelligent and elegant woman. May the heavens accept her soul with joy, and may she rest in peace. The world was a much better place because she was in it.
Our prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Dearest Bozena and Family,
I was sad to hear of the sudden passing of your mother.
Her radiant smile, generosity and melodic voice were forever impressed upon the young boy I once was and I'm smiling back at her picture as I write these words. Truly, a beautiful person.
Lysane, Emilia and Mikael and I convey our condolences and love.
Keep well,
Jeremy Wisniewski

Dear our relatives! Sad news came to our land from distant Toronto. We prayed for Jozia's recovery, but the prospect of our prayers was not enough. Unfortunately, the homeland forever lost a beautiful and wise woman, a good mother and an unsurpassed grandmother. We mourn together with Bozenka, Mateus, Rishard and everyone who knew Jozia. All our family will pray for her prayerfully. Let it rest with God.
In tribulation we bow our heads, Paul from her native land. May God help her relatives survive these difficult times.
