The Balaban family is sad to announce the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt Josipa Balaban on April 5, 2023 at the age of 95.

Josipa is survived by her loving sons Branko (Dubravka) and Nikola (Jadranka). Her beloved grandsons, Steven (Philina), Josip (Shannon) and Ivica and her great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Owen and Maks. She also leaves behind her brother Vlado (Katica) Frlan, niece Annie Prasnjak and family, nephew Nikola Frlan and niece Kathy Frlan and family; as well as many family and friends in Croatia and Canada. Josipa is predeceased by her brother Ivan Frlan and sister Katica Popovic.

Josipa was born in Vivodina, Croatia on December 3, 1927, to parents Josip and Ana Frlan. She came to Canada in 1978 to join her sons.

Visitation will held at Turner and Porter, Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario Street
Mississauga on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Rosary prayer will be at 8 p.m.

Funeral mass will be at Croatian Martyrs Church,4605 Mississauga Road, Mississauga on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 10 a.m. followed by internment at Assumption Cemetery.
