It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Josephine Mifsud on July 14, 2025, at the age of 85.
Born in Rabat, Malta, on January 24, 1940, Josephine lived a life grounded in faith, love, and unwavering devotion to her family.
She was the beloved wife of 60 years to Joseph Mifsud, a devoted mother to Karen, Rosanne, and Gail, a proud and loving grandmother to Manny and Stephanie, and a esteemed mother-in-law to Steve.
She was a kind and compassionate sister to siblings Charlie Buhagiar, Mary Fenech (deceased), Doris Galea, Pauline Gauci, Christine Hofer, and Marthese Portelli.
She leaves behind a supportive and loving network of extended family and friends, including brother and sister in-laws, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Josephine will be fondly remembered for her warmth, thoughtfulness, and strength of spirit. She was an exceptional cook and baker, bringing family and friends together with her delicious meals and sweet treats. A devoted gardener, she found joy in nurturing beauty and creating a home filled with comfort and care.
For more than 25 years, Josephine dedicated herself to nurturing and raising children as a childcare provider. Her home was a place of safety, laughter, and learning for many families, and her loving influence reached well beyond her own.
A lifelong supporter of her church, Josephine lived her faith each day through quiet service, compassion, and grace. She generously supported numerous charities throughout her life, always finding ways to help those in need. Her love was steady, her presence calming, and her example of generosity and devotion will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
Her life was a blessing, her love enduring. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Visitation will take place at Sts. Martha and Mary Parish, 1870 Burnhamthorpe Rd E., Mississauga, on Monday, July 21st at 10:00 a.m.; the funeral mass is to follow at 11:00 a.m. Josephine will be laid to rest at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, 6933 Tomken Road, Mississauga.
