In Celebration of

Joseph John Conrath

September 30, 1926 -  May 28, 2018

Passed away peacefully in his 92nd year at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Toronto on Monday May 28, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Helen Eileen Conrath (nee Boehler), cherished father to Chris, John (Kim Barton), Anne and Claire (Andrew Suhay), adored Papa of Joe, Eileen and Audrey and dear friend to so many. Raised in Montreal, where he was surrounded by siblings and childhood friends, Joe moved to Toronto where he found the love of his life, a successful career as an engineer working on both the Avro Arrow as well as with Atomic Energy of Canada and a thriving social and parish life. He was a proud McGill graduate, lover of sports and active member of his parish of Our Lady of Sorrows for many years. Joe maintained a close and loving relationship with all of his siblings right through his life – Raymond (Mary), Robert (Lilian), Kathleen Richards (Reynolds), Patricia Fillingim (Raymond) and Louise Pope (John) as well as his late sister-in-law Kathleen Boehler and late brother-in-law Msgr. Edward Boehler. His most cherished moments were in his retirement days; traveling, time with friends, and on the dock of the cottage watching the loons go by with his devoted wife Helen. He will be thought of with love and missed by so many.

Visitation will be held on Thursday May 31, 2018 at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. West from 5:00 pm – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday June 1, 2018 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3055 Bloor St. West. at 11:00 a.m.

Joe was always an extra member of our family in Hampstead PQ. We kept in touch for many years through Jim Knowlton ( best buddy since the 1930"s). We had a great visit with Joe at Jim's 90th birthday party two years ago.. Great memories of a happy life. May he rest in peace. He will be missed.

Dear Claire,
So sorry to hear of the death of your Dad. Even though he lived to a good age and had an interesting and enjoyable life, it always comes as a shock.
Be assured of my prayerful support for you and your family at this time. Hope our paths will cross on PEI this summer.
Love and prayers,
Sister Frances

He and Helen were a terrific couple, very devoted to each other. We were neighbours in The Kingsway and Christopher was a friend at OLS of my son Stephen Kovacs.
