In Celebration of

Jolanta Sudnik

April 16, 1948 -  May 1, 2016

Jolanta, owner of Jolanta Interiors, peacefully passed at home amongst her closest family members, on Sunday May 1, 2016. Loved daughter of Anna and George Łapczynski. Much loved sister of Ewa Marshall-Rudnicki, Tom Łapczynski, and Anka Czudec, and sister-in-law to John, Oleńka, and Tom. Adored Mother of Jagoda (Jogi) Sudnik, along with her partner Hopeton, and "Baba" to Michal, Patryk, as well as Chloe and Preston. Amazing Aunt to Kasia, Peter, Evva, Voytek, Adam, Monika and Kina, as well as close cousin to Basia, and her husband Henio. Her best friend Ewa Taubenfligiel, aka "Gruba", was her 'partner in crime' throughout their years in Canada together.

She will be dearly missed by everyone, especially by her partner of nearly 20 years, Jan Szarycz, with whom she shared her zest for life, laughter and happiness, as well as a passion for gardening and mushroom-picking at the cottage.

Jolanta always started each day with a smile and positive attitude!☺

An entrepreneur at heart, Jolanta opened Jolanta Interiors in 1975, after graduating from Interior Design at Ryerson University. She developed an enthusiastic work ethic and love for business early in life, while working at her parents' delicatessen and bakery, Anna's, in the heart of Bloor West Village. Jolanta Interiors continues to be a longstanding neighbourhood treasure.

Visitation will be held at Turner & Porter - Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West - Thursday May 5th - 4-8pm. Mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3055 Bloor Street West, on Friday May 6th - 11am. Celebration to follow in Church Hall.

Flowers are welcomed and hugs are appreciated, in lieu of traditional condolences.

We would like to support St. Joseph's Oncology Clinic. Everyone there made a difference in Jolanta's journey! An account has been set up at TD Canada Trust - ACCT # 1144-635 9391 - in trust for Jolanta Sudnik. All contributions will go directly to the Oncology Clinic, and to those who provided the best care for Jolanta.

Thank You!
