In Celebration of

John Scali

May 2, 1967 -  February 4, 2025

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John Scali. He was born on May 2, 1967, and passed away in Toronto on February 4, 2025 at the age of 57 years old.

John was a long time baseball fan, especially little league which he coached for a number of years. He was a great supporter of his church and high school. John always felt education and faith were paramount to leading a full and happy life. Spending most of his professional career supporting his community and local charities. John has worked tirelessly with senior and community organizations locally and globally.

Known affectionately as ‘Scali’ by friends, John was at his best when providing help and guidance to those who asked for it. He had a seemingly endless supply of patience and concern. His only limitation was time, which was far too short. John will be forever missed and the memories of his generosity and kindness will be equally as cherished.

Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Theresa and survived by his brothers, Nick and Frank Junior. John leaves a legacy of leading by example.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, Toronto (east of Jane Subway at Windermere) on Monday, February 10, 2025 from 5-8 p.m. A Mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc Church, 1701 Bloor Street West, Toronto, on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 11 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.

For those who wish, donations in memory of John to the charity of your choice.

John and I used to work at Scotiabank. He was my boss for 5 years. He was an honest and fair minded boss. He cared for everyone under him like a family.
John will be missed by all who knew him.
