In Celebration of

John McClymont

January 26, 1943 -  June 11, 2017

The family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of John Stewart McClymont on June 11th, 2017. Cherished husband of the late Cathy. Loving father of Carol (Sean) and Mark (Jen). Adored grandfather (Gaga) of Ryan, Braden and Devin. Dear brother of Joan and brother in-law to Ian (Gayle). Much loved uncle of Darcy (Kerry), Amy (John), Stuart (Shelby) and Michael (Verna) and a great lifelong friend to many. The loss of John will be felt by all. His kindness, big heart and generosity towards others will be greatly missed. He was deeply involved in the lives of his children and grandchildren. John was devoted to his best friend and high school sweetheart, the late Catherine, who were together for 50 years and married for 43 years; they built a loving life and family together. Lifelong educator, he taught in the Etobicoke School Board for over 25 years as a teacher and later as a principal. John took tremendous pride in everything that was going on in the lives of his children and grandchildren. He valued time with the family and golden retrievers, enjoying every minute at the cottage on beautiful Bass Lake. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter “Peel” Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St, Mississauga (Hwy 10 N. of QEW) on Thursday, June 15th from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Service will be held on Friday, June 16th at 11 a.m. In John’s memory, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

My deepest sympathy to John's family and friends. John and I worked together when he was the Principal at Martingrove C. I. and I was his secretary. He looked forward to spending time at his cottage on Bass Lake. He will be missed.

I was very sorry to hear that John had passed away. John was a special friend in high school, and took me to the Prom at LPCI in Grade 11. He was such a gentleman. Very soon, Cathy entered the picture. All for the good! John and Cathy had such a wonderful relationship, it made a person smile to see them together. Cathy and I were very good friends, so there was plenty of time to get to know John quite well. He was a gentle soul, with a ready smile, an infectious laugh, and a twinkle in his eye when amused. Rest in peace, dear friend. You have left us much too soon. Love, Jill
