Dear Elaine,

Maria and I would like to express our sincere condolences to you and to your family on the loss of your father. Though we did not know your father personally, I recall you talking about him so very fondly on our morning walks.

May the memories of his life provide you with the comfort that you need at this time.
Affectionately,
Eva Hergovich.

My thoughts and sympathies are with you all.

Ed was a kind and generous man and adopted my friend Cathy and me as his
"Scottish daughters", a true mark of the man. He helped to create many happy Canadian memories for us.

He will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
