I'm filled with so many happy memories of my dad. It has been hard seeing him deteriorate over the past several years but now that he's gone I feel I can celebrate his life and look back on all the times we spent together. He was never a boring person so there is a great number stories about him; many humorous, some exciting and others that escape any classification. I'm sure over the years to come I'll hear of many more from those who knew him, for he did have a way of touching people. I could go on but I think it is enough to say that he was a good man, a good husband, a good father and a good friend. I'm lucky to have had him as a dad and also as a friend.
I was so sadden to learn of your father's passing. I never met your dad, except through knowing his daughter, Lois. I share your pain knowing your dad is gone forever but memories of him will live on with you forever. My condolences to the rest of the family from Alex and myself. And many, many hugs.
Lovely memories of my wonderful uncle, who made us laugh so much as kids and in adult life. Thanks to my cousins for bringing all this a bit nearer to home and keeping us brits over hear informed. And bringing back the memories. God bless. X
It was a pleasure to meet, and get to know, John on many occasions - here in the UK and once in Florida. He and his brother Mike were very close (as much as the long geographical distance would allow!!!!) and had much in common. So VERY SAD that neither of them are no longer with us.
Sending all our love to Uncle John's family....there's a great distance between us but you guys are always in our hearts and we wish we could be there for you. Uncle John was a huge character and crammed full of stories, and the adventures that generated them. Dave and I send our love from London and we will be thinking of Uncle John on the day of his service....and for all the years to come. Dave still talks about one of his childhood visits to Canada and the cardboard box tied to the roof of Uncle John's car...and being rewarded for being the first to tell him when it flew off the roof driving down the motorway. Lots of great memories which will stay with everyone forever xxx
