John Bexfield

November 6, 1960 -  December 14, 2019

Retired Pilot -

It is with heavy hearts that the Bexfield family announces the sudden passing of John Bexfield on December 14, 2019 at the age of 59. John was the son of Dympna (nee Coyne) and the late Richard Bexfield. John was a beloved family man who endlessly looked out for all those he cared deeply for. John leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Shirley (nee Jenkins) and daughters, Megan (Tyler), Caroline (Kyle) and Moira Bexfield. Mourning with his wife and children is his mother and siblings, Patricia Bunting (Martin), Joan Morrison (John), Sheila Byford (Kevin) and brother-in-law Kirk Jenkins (Lucy). He will be dearly missed by his extended family and friends. John dedicated his life to aviation and travel. He was keen on providing his family with numerous opportunities to experience abroad. When John wasn’t busy flying airplanes, you could find him indulging in his artistic passion for painting, which he shared with his mother. John was soft hearted yet equally witty and always put people’s best interest first. His bright shiny soul is a beacon for all his family and friends.

I worked with John at Canada 3000. Although I was part of the cabin crew, it was always a pleasure to fly with John. He was a kind and caring man and will be very much missed. My heart goes out to his family.

I have so many wonderful memories from the years I worked with John at both City Express and Canada 3000. He was a true leader… professional and talented with a genuinely caring nature. I always felt proud and safe when John was at the helm. I also remember the twinkle he would get in his eye with any mention of Shirley and the girls. He was a family man first and always and everyone knew it. I am honoured to have considered John not only a colleague but a friend. Shirley my heart is heavy for you. I remember you well and the fun you two would have on flights. You two were a match made in heaven and I am deeply saddened for your loss. Kelly
