Just shy of his 88th birthday, following his battle with Alzheimer’s disease, Joe passed away peacefully at Wellbrook Place in his sleep. Throughout his life, Joe lived it to the fullest with a sense of “joie de vivre”. He loved horses, his visits to the race track and the casino, driving his sporty Celica, visits to his son’s cottage, sharing a beer or a glass of rye with family and friends and playing with his grandson Alex. Joe always squeezed the most out of life.

Predeceased by his parents Hajime and Shizue, his beloved wife Terrie, brothers Les, Terry, Miki (Carol) and Len (Ali). He will be missed by his son Marc (Sandi), grandson Alex, brother Ken (Shirley), sister-in-law’s Kay and Fely. Joe will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation and funeral will be held at Turner & Porter Neweduk-Erin Mills Chapel, Saturday, March 21, 2026 Visitation from 2 - 3 p.m., following a funeral / memorial service at 3 p.m.
