In Celebration of

João Gaspar Oliveira

August 26, 1946 -  August 17, 2025

Obituary for João Gaspar Oliveira. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of João Gaspar Oliveira. Beloved husband father and grandfather who passed away in his home with his wife Maria by his side on Sunday August 17th 2025 at the age of 78, only 9 days short of his 79th birthday.

Born on August 26th 1946 in Terceira Azores Portugal João married his sweetheart Maria, had their first born son John and moved to Canada in 1972. He created a beautiful life with his wife and six children. João lived a life full of love laughter and dedication to his family. His love of fishing storytelling and benfica were grand. Anyone who was lucky enough to meet him knew that he was a man who had many words of wisdom. He was determined, hard-working, supportive, friendly, kind-hearted, genuine and always full of life. He never gave up.

His love for his wife, children, and grandchildren was so grand that you couldn't help but smile. João was and always will be truly one of a kind in our hearts and memories forever. He will be greatly missed by many but we know his suffering is over and he is now at peace in heaven next to his Angel grandchildren looking over all of us.

Predeceased by his parents; João Jose Oliveira and Maria Mercedes Oliveira. His Angel grandchildren, Anthony, Nicolas, and Aliana. And his younger brother Manuel Oliveira.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Maria De Lurdes Oliveira. His children John (Roseanne), Luciano, Marco (Annie), Debbie, Marcio (Laura), Jason (Lucy).
His 14 grandchildren Ashley, Nathan, Sofia, Isabella, Alexandre, Myia, Luciana, Emily, Roberto, Adrianna, Addison, Jordan, Paisley, Leo.

Rest in peace and continue to watch over us. Until we meet again in heaven. We love you always
