In Celebration of

Joanne Margaret McKendry

December 5, 1949 -  January 5, 2017

Joanne passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the age of 67 surrounded by her husband, children, and all 7 of her siblings. Devoted wife of Charles Eagles. Loving mother of Jennifer McKendry (Mark Polley) and Skye (Kelly) McKendry-Eagles. Cherished Nana of Owen, Charlotte and Mae.

Much loved sister of Mary Zelezinsky (late Casey), Sally (Cliff) Wagner, Ellen (Lloyd) Boone, Sandra (James) Clarke, Joseph McKendry (Kathleen Hudson), John McKendry and Kevin McKendry, beloved aunt to 14 nieces & nephews, and friend to many.

Joanne was a vibrant & dedicated educator with the TDSB for over 25 years and in the process changed the lives of many students. She was a bookworm who loved gardening, embroidery, watching movies, and who cooked a mean Sunday dinner. She was an excellent conversationalist who took a genuine interest in the lives of others. Over the years many great weekends were spent visiting family & friends, playing cards, cribbage and Skip-Bo. Her greatest legacy is the strong and connected family she leaves behind. We loved you well, Mum.

Heartfelt thanks to Alexandra & Tracy, and to each of Joanne's health care providers at Princess Margaret where she received wonderful and compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joanne's memory to the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

To my wonderful Auntie Jo, thank you for being you. I have been reflecting on wonderful memories we share from when I was a little girl to most recent giggles we have shared. I had the privilege of growing up with my aunts and uncles close by me, and cherish the time I was able to share with you, weather it was tea with Mum and Nana, or playing in the yard with our Jenny.
You are a kind and strong women, and I am a better person to have you as my aunt. You will be greatly missed and cherished always. I don't want to say goodbye, so I will say see you later in my dreams.
I love you, rest in peace Auntie Jo. Xoxo.......
