I was very sad and upset to learn of Joan's passing. She was my neighbour for many years and I will miss her greatly.
She had recovered from so many serious illnesses since I've known her that I thought she would do so this time as well. Sadly, that did not happen.
May she rest in peace.
Dear Leslie and Anne,
I am so sorry to hear of Joan's passing. She was a welcome presence at my mother's (Peggy Hanna Griffiths) 95 birthday and we shared some fond memories of your parents Lois and Reg and the history of the very large Garland family.
My sincerest sympathies to you both and to your families.
Kind Regards,
Sherry

Oh my dear Joan
My heart is broken to see you laying quietly here forever.
Last time I talk to you Apr. 18th you shared with me the the
struggle the physical pain you are going through,
the optimism that you believed in getting better and stronger.
We planned to have lunch next week and celebrate your retirement,
birth day and stress free future.
Now I believe in the saying “We make plans and God is laughing at us”
Prematurely the first part of your life is over,
and one more angel is looking at us to soon.
Even though you were not ready to part from this life yet
I guess God needed a hard working girl up there to take care of business,
and bake your special short bread cookies.
It is sooooo sad to accept that we wont have any heart to heart luncheon talks
to cry on each other shoulders, to laugh remembering all good times
at the parties way back then,
afternoon walk at Harbour waterfront or High park.
I hope you found a peaceful place surrounded by rainbows that match your
specially picked outfits and fluffy hair
May you rest in peace girl
So long for now my friend.
thinking of you fondly – Susie
Dear Lesley, Ann and family, please accept my sincerest condolences at the death of your sister. We were friends for 45 years and shared some fun time. I will miss her a great deal. I am shocked and saddened at the news, since we believed she would pull true again. God be with her. Regards Susie
