In Celebration of

Joan Burke

October 13, 1931 -  February 10, 2026

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our mother on February 10, 2026, at the age of 94.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Bill. Mother of Wilma, Linda, Patti (Bob), Harold (Teresa), Anna, Carol (Joe), and Susan. Proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Survived by her brother Joe (Myrna), sister Jane (Marcelo), and predeceased by her brother Allen and wife Jean. Beloved aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

She lived and raised her children in Toronto before starting a career in the food industry, catering well into her 70s. She has been a resident of Erindale for the past 40 years, where she has formed many strong friendships. Born in New Liskeard to John and Mabel McLellan , she remained connected to and proud of her Northern Ontario roots.

Joan was known for her strong determination, incredible memory, love of hockey and horse racing. She genuinely loved sharing her life experiences, connecting with people and hearing their stories.

Sincere thanks to the Mississauga Hospital for the palliative care provided.

A memorial service will be held at St. Peter’s Erindale Anglican Church. 3041 Mississauga Road, Mississauga, on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 11 a.m.

Burial of ashes to follow in the churchyard.

Condolences may be expressed at the reception, following the service, in the Parish Hall.

If desired, donations may be made to St. Peter’s Erindale Anglican Church or a charity of your choice.
