Jessie Elizabeth Hodder

October 11, 1926 -  May 18, 2017

Passed away peacefully at the Tyndall Nursing Home on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of 60 years of the late Austin. Loving mother of Larry (Helen), Kathy (Bob), Karen (Tony), and the late Keith and Phil. Cherished grandmother of Jeff (Laura), Laura (Shayne), Jesse, Jason, Paul, Mathew, Chris, Krystal, Amy, Josh and Elise. Adored Great-Grandmother of 11. Special Aunt, Great-Aunt and dear friend to many. Jessie will be lovingly remembered by her daughters-in-law Colleen and Jeannine. Predeceased by her parents Elizabeth and Donald McIver, brothers Lloyd, Norm, Don and sisters Christine and Mary. Jessie is survived by her brother-in-law George Griffiths and sister-in-law Marjorie McIver.

Jessie loved good music, dancing, a cold beer or a hot cup tea. She enjoyed cottage life with family on the Bruce Peninsula (Pike Bay). She loved to gather with family and friends to play card games and board games (scrabble). Jessie and her late husband Austin, lived in Lakeview for 45 years and later retired in Colphy's Bay, Ontario. Jessie liked to attend the Southside Shuffle and always Painted the Town Red in Port Credit. She made new friends and attended many of the events at Tyndall Nursing Home.

A Celebration of Life is to take place at the Turner & Porter - Peel Chapel (2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga) on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 2pm to 5pm.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Turner & Porter Funeral Home. A private burial will be attended on the South Bruce Peninsula at a later date.

A special thank you to all the staff, volunteers and friends at the Tyndall Nursing Home (1060 Eglinton Avenue East) for their compassionate care of Jessie during all stages of her dementia.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations may be made to the Trillium Health Partners.

I will miss Jessie very much. She was always a good friend and we had many good times together. We raised our children together and always took the time to have family dinners and lots of laughs.
