We are devastated to announce the death of Jennifer Lynn Robertson, 48, at Hamilton General Hospital on December 2, 2025, in the presence of loved ones. She is predeceased by her parents Stuart D. T. Robertson (1985) and Alice G. (Marks) Robertson (2022). She is survived by her siblings Jeananne (Rick) and Donald (“Jocko”), by several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and by a large, extended circle of friends and family of choice. We are grateful for the caring efforts of medical teams in the Cardiovascular ICUs at Waterloo Health Sciences Centre and Hamilton General Hospital.
Jennifer was born July 29, 1977, and grew up in Toronto’s west end near the Humber River. She enjoyed the neighbourliness of the Baby Point community and maintained a strong connection to the neighbourhood throughout her life. Jennifer attended Humbercrest Jr./Sr. Public School and Runnymede Collegiate (1996). She studied at the University of Toronto, and earned credentials from Sheridan College (Animal Care, 2002), and Seneca College (Veterinary Technician, 2011).
Jennifer worked as a sales associate and bilingual customer service representative in a variety of industries, where her warmth and kindness made her a customer favourite. Following her love of animals, and her commitment to their well-being, Jenn also worked in animal care in both the retail and veterinary sectors. Most recently, Jennifer pursued a calling as a cannabis educator and budtender for Guelph area dispensaries.
Jennifer’s interests included music (she played trumpet), sports (hockey and rugby), crafting, cooking, Coronation Street, and caring for her pets – and everyone else’s pets, too! She enjoyed camping and fishing, especially with her friends and their pets and children. Jenn is remembered for being approachable and friendly, and her welcoming smile and easy manner invited connection and conversation leading her to make new friends wherever she went. Jennifer never saw a dog that she didn’t want to meet. She treasured her friends (her family of choice) and maintained strong lifelong friendships. Her friends remember her for her thoughtful, generous, and open-hearted nature and describe her as a beacon of joy and a bright light. She will be dearly missed, and we will carry her with us in our hearts.
A Memorial Visitation to remember Jennifer’s life will be held on Sunday, December 14 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. West.
In keeping with Jennifer’s lifelong commitment to animal advocacy, donations to the Toronto Humane Society or the Dog Tales Charitable Foundation would be welcomed in lieu of flowers.
