(nee Griffin) ~

Died Peacefully at 103 years of age with family by her side and supported by the watchful care of the staff of Kensington Gardens.
Jeanette was born in Buffalo, NY but was raised in Toronto from the time she was just a little one. Mom and Dad (James, deceased 1989) raised their family in Toronto before moving to Islington in 1953. Mom’s faith, her family and her friends were the cornerstones of how she lived each day. Loved and treasured by her children and their spouses: Rosanne (Peter Swalwell) of Oakville, D’Arcy (Trish Keachie) of Orangeville, Peggy (Dale Shippam) of Thunder Bay, Jim (Peter Conradi) of London U.K. and Wales, Bill (Sue O’Neill) of Toronto, Jane (Bourke Smith) of Lively ON and Tremblant, Que, John (Anne Gagnon) of Toronto.
She loved and was loved by her 13 grandchildren: Andre, Holly, Laura, Sean, Sara, Sam, Dale, Jamie, Kate, Claire, Amy, Mark and Kevin and her 13 great grandchildren, some of whom celebrated her 103rd birthday with her in April. Mom is also survived by several nieces, nephews and their children. Mom was an enthusiastic volunteer serving for many years at the Blood Donor Clinic in Toronto, the Catholic Women’s League and at St. Joan of Arc Parish, Toronto. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W. (East of the Jane subway) on Sunday from 2-4 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 1701 Bloor St. W., Toronto, on Monday May 15, 2017 at 10 am. In Mom’s memory and at her request, please consider a donation to Kensington Gardens or charity of your choice.

If of thy worldly goods
thou art bereft…
and to thee alone
two loaves are left,
sell one,
and with the dole
buy
Hyacinths
to feed thy
Soul.

Met Jan at St. Joan of Arc Parish and always enjoyed her company. She always had a smile and a friendly word to share. A wonderful lady. May your memories of her sustain you during this difficult time.

Dear Peggy, Dale and Family
We are so sorry to hear of your mother passing. Meeting Jan at Silver Islet and Thunder Bay was always a pleasure. She carried her age with poise and grace and her enthusiasm for life was very apparent especially when playing scrabble. Her delightful prescence will be missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Please know that you have our love and support.

Love Jan and Walt
