Joan & Bill Campbell (Friends)

Entered November 17, 2018 from Toronto

We met Jean in Calgary in 1981 when we lived there for a few weeks. She, along with John and Ian, warmly befriended us. Later, the friendship was renewed when we moved to Toronto, and again, when we returned from Northern Ireland. We are thankful for having known Jean and we wish John, Ian and the family much comfort in this time of loss and bereavement.

In gratitude,

the Rev. Bill and Joan Campbell

To John, Alison and family and Ian, you already know what a wonderful mother and grandmother Jean was and my dear friend for many years. Her kindness and friendship will be a wonderful memory and know that we share your sorrow. Love to you all.

Gillian Spencer-Sinclair (Dear friend friend for nearly 60 years)

Entered November 18, 2018 from Nanoose Bay, BC, Canada

Our friendship started nearly 60 years ago when we were immigrants to Canada. each of us looking for a new life.
Our lives have been like a river winding its way through life with all its twists and turns.
Writing this I am reliving the history with its many moves and re-locations. There were sad times, good times and many laughs along the way.
I only had boys and Jean was god parent to my youngest son Gary.
When Allison was preparing to get married, I was included in the tour with Allison of the bridal shops for her wedding gown. What a special privilege, as it filled a void in my life at that time.
Through the toughest parts of my life Jean was there to support me and prop me up, as I am sure she has done for others.
In the ups she has been there as support, with her smiling face and Irish brogue. We are told if you can count your friends on one hand you are lucky, Jean was one of those friends.
We have lived on opposite side on the country for 20 years, keeping in touch with letters and phone calls. These will be missed but the memories will remain for the rest of my life. What a special friendship indeed.
Gillian Spencer-Sinclair.
