In Celebration of

Jean Harper

September 13, 1923 -  December 28, 2018

Jean passed away peacefully in her 96th year on December 28th, 2018. She was devoted to her late beloved husband William, and cherished her loving son Greg and his wife Lori. Jean adored and had a very special bond with her grandchildren, Shawna-Marie, Leslie, and her husband Tom. She was predeceased by her brothers Carl & Mel Stewart, as well as her sister Dorothy Pauling, and will be missed by her nieces and nephews. Our family is very appreciative of the care she received at Scarlett Heights Retirement Residence, as well as at West Park Long Term Care where she was known as “The Queen”.
Mom was a very strong, feisty lady with a great sense of humour who always kept us on our toes. There was never a shortage of love, laughter, or mischief and we will miss her very much.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or a charity of your choice is greatly appreciated.

We have many wonderful memories of Aunty Jean from family dinners, picnics, cottage time at Gold Lake, Christmas, Easter and holidays during our growing up years. Mom and her sister were strong women, both in fortitude, personality, and sense of humour! In later years, Aunty Jean welcomed our growing families for fun at the cottage. She holds a special place in our hearts.

Jean enjoyed a long life living the way she wanted to live. She has left her signature on so many lives. I have watched for many years the pride she enjoyed as Greg mirrored so many of the strong characters of his father, Bill. She was blessed with the most loving daughter in law, Lori, that anyone could ask for. Jean lived long enough to watch her grandchildren grow into quality young adults who even today live there lives with the same characteristics they inherited from Jean and Bill thru Greg and Lori. Tom is a fine young man who has witnessed and now enjoying a life with Leslie and benefiting from the foundation of family started by Jean and Bill. Soon everyone will be able to pass onto the next generation a life started by Jean and Bill. Even I have benefitted from the Harper love and life style. I thank Jean for her part in the way she impacted upon my life. I won’t be able to join the celebration of Jean’s life but please know Sandy and I will be thinking about you all.
