Jean (Genovaite) Kuzmas

January 20, 1920 - April 14, 2017

97, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Good Friday, April 14th 2017, at Labdara Lithuanian Nursing Home in Toronto. Beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, she is survived by her daughter, Danute (Larry Karnis), grandchildren Monika, Laurie and Eric Karnis, her nephews Raymond Yokubynas (wife Kathleen, daughter Nicole), Ron Kuzmickas (wife Janet, son Michael (Jenna)), and niece Daiva Miranda (Gerry Cooper). Jean was predeceased by her dearly loved husband Stan Kuzmas, her son John and brother Ben Yokubynas. Jean was an avid supporter of many Lithuanian youth and cultural groups. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W. (East of the Jane subway) on Thursday and Friday from 6 – 9 p.m. Prayers will be held Friday at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Lithuanian Martyrs’ Catholic Church, 2185 Stavebank Rd., Mississauga on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at St. John’s Lithuanian Cemetery. A Memorial Luncheon will then be held at Lithuanian Martyrs' Church Hall in the Upper Floor Lounge. Memorial donations can be made in Jean Kuzmas’ name in support of Labdara Nursing Home.

While everyone is amazed at your departure on Good Friday, it means much more for the TRUE Kuzmas family - an early Birthday present for your husband and my beloved Uncle Stan - Dede Stasys! I'm glad you are together again!
Mamus'ka! Give him a big Birthday smooch from Janus'ka (all three of us know what that means!) and other true-blood relatives - his niece Victoria (Marc) and his Grandnephew Boris (Jolanta, Benedict).
