In Celebration of

Jarmila Bečka

April 2, 1941 -  August 8, 2020

It is with great sadness that the family of Jarmila Bečka (née Minářová) announces her peaceful passing in Mississauga, Ontario, on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at the age of 79, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Loving wife of Zdeněk (deceased), beloved mother of Zdeněk (Nikki), Jarmila (Michael), and Hana (Dan), and cherished babi of Drake, Claire-Solène, Nicholas, Simone, and miminko Head.

Jarmila’s loving, generous nature and strength of spirit will be forever remembered by her extended family and dear friends in the Czech Republic, Canada, US, UK, and Australia. Jarmila delighted in the company of family, friends, and fellow Sokols, as well as her numerous adventures in nature; she lived life to the fullest and cherished the small joys.

A celebration of life will be held when family and friends are able to properly gather.

Memorial donations may be made to the Bruce Trail Conservancy or the Carlo Fidani Regional Cancer Centre using the "Make a Donation" link at the bottom of this page.

It was a great honour to know Jarmila. Such a wonderful, warm and kind-hearted individual who always took the time to write, check in and see how things were going. Selfless, strong, courageous and caring; she was simply incredible.

Her love for family and friends was extraordinary and her gregarious nature made her someone extremely special.

I’ll cherish our dance together and our deep and meaningful chat, at Hana and Dan’s wedding! She was gushing with pride and looked absolutely stunning.

I will miss her greatly but no doubt she’ll be camping in the heavens looking out for those bears!

Much love, James xxx

Jarmila was the dearest, thoughtful ,caring friend anyone could ask for.
We were friends when our daughters introduced us many years ago.We visited to so many places,Niagara Falls was our favourite, every season to see the snow in winter, Fall leaves in October, Flowers in the Spring, and summer after her camping trips.
My best vacation was when went to Prague in 2017, lovely city and so much history.
Jarmila was like a sister to me, I will miss her so much. I hope she is in a lovely place and pain free. Love you so much, Christmas and our April birthdays wont be the same without you.
Love Avril

Jarmila will be greatly missed. I still cannot believe it. Jarmila was such a kind and caring person who had such a passion for life. I have so many fond memories of Jarmila. From birthdays at the Day Care ( I can vividly hear her wishing “Happy Birthday!” after singing, Tea Parties at her house with delicious treats and my favourite tea she would bring from back home while listening to her camping adventures, dancing at my wedding with all the Day Care ladies, and Day Care gatherings either at someone’s house and the fabulous night at Stage West.
I will miss her greatly.
My sincerest condolences to family.
