Dear Family of Nina,

We will deeply miss Nina! We remember her most for her faithful prayer meeting attendance, her fervent prayers and encouraging explanations of Bible passages which she knew so well. Praying for you all! Steve and Marianne, Church on the Queensway

Our love and prayers are with you at this time. Nina was such a delightful, intelligent and caring lady. We met her through Church on the Queensway and always enjoyed our conversations. She also knew Trevor's mother when they were younger.
We will see her again in heaven...looking forward to it.
Love,
MaryAnn & Trevor

Nina will be greatly missed. What a dedicated and faith filled woman of God who enjoyed serving and being with God's people. Nina was a highly capable person who could fix so many things around her home. She was a fine cook and enjoyed being hospital to her guests. Nina enjoyed praying for the needs of others in the area of intercessory prayer. You have entered your reward Nina . . . well done thou good and faithful servant.
God bless,
Pastor Ron Pakulat

Our Friend Janina Lubojanski
Nina was best friends with my mother-in-law Erme and Helen. The three ladies went out for lunch every Sunday after the morning service and Victor Goodman’s Adult Sunday School class at The Church On The Queensway… AKA Queensway Cathedral. Nina was very faithful in attending church services, mid week Bible studies and the Seniors Bible studies (Helen led this group once upon a time). Nina was on the decorating committee for the senior’s ministry. From time to time she’d call us and ask if we had any fresh flowers she could use for decorating the seniors banquet tables.
Nina was a wonderful Evangelist and prayer warrior. She went throughout her neighbourhood inviting folks to church cantatas. She gave them an invite card. During the cantatas Nina and others joined for prayer in a back room (somewhere in the church). One time she asked me how I enjoyed the cantata. To which I replied, it was really anointed and I could sense that “a lot of prayer went behind this one”. She said you’re right, we were in the room behind praying during the cantata. Often she asked me to join her in agreement to pray for someone she knew. Nina knew how to touch heaven and take her authority in prayer. We have lost a prayer warrior.

While Nina’s English was perfect she had a cute way of saying certain things… for example… she would say that she found something “on the line”. I helped her correct that one. She said she shopped at Fresh dot CO. Again we got that one sorted out and from then on she’d say she looked up something online and she went shopping at Freshco. When my husband (Harry) and his siblings were young they ran throughout the house. Erme told them a number of times to stop… then she’d say you kids be quiet and “that’s basta”. I asked our Italian Chiropractor if he had heard that word before and he said yes it’s Italian for “enough”. I also asked Nina what it meant. She said “basta” meant “enough”… and she added, it’s a Polish word, not Italian nor Estonian. If someone did something wrong Nina would say “they are cruising for a bruising”. I told her my dad used to tell us kids that all the time when we got rowdy.

Harry and I took Nina with us when we met up with one of our group of friends… I referred to it as “the gang”. One of the ladies, Girlie, in that “gang” was younger than Nina but she always called Nina – “Auntie Nini”. When I told the gang that Nina had passed away they were all in shock, “not Nina, we will miss her”.

I wanted to make stroganoff so we went to a Polish deli and bought what looked like a package for mushroom gravy. The instructions were in Polish. At home I called Nina and spelled out each word in the package instructions. She translated the Polish into English and told me step-by-step how to make the gravy. That was great, I had my own interpreter and great gravy.

Nina is in heaven where it’s anything but quiet and restful as we know it. She is not sick, nor is she in any pain. No doubt she’s chatting up a storm and praising the Lord with folks from Queensway and others who went on before her. All her friends love her. She has a great sense of humour. Nina loves people and she wants them all to receive Jesus as their Personal Saviour and truly live for Him. John 3:16. Numbers 6:24-26.

A number of friends pass along their condolences: Pastor and Mrs. Ralph Rutledge wrote: Nina was a dear lady. She was always so sweet and faithful in attending the House of God. Please pass on our deepest condolences to the family.

Victor and Eileen Goodman asked to be remembered to Nina’s family. Nina was so faithful in attending their class and services at Queensway for many years. They loved her sweet spirit and her love for the Lord.

Pastor Jonathan Rodkin asked us to pass on his condolences to the family.

Ann Collins (Nina’s former Seniors Bible Study leader) was shocked to hear of Nina’s home going. Ann really enjoyed going to Nina’s home for a meal. Nina was a great cook. Ann loved sitting on the swing on Nina’s porch. She very much enjoyed Nina’s artwork. Most of all, Ann remembers Nina’s spirituality and her love for God.

Nina attended Rice Ministry Bible studies every second Saturday evening at Mac’s Car Garage. She was a great blessing to the leader, Minister Robert Maclure, and those who attended. Nina was a great prayer warrior. The whole group said they will miss her a lot. She was very punctual and didn’t miss any meetings (within her capability). She was a true testimony in her faith for Jesus. She had so much love and a depth in the Lord. Robert went on to say that Nina prayed for people all around the world, that ministry touched, and people received salvation, restoration and even healing. The whole group sends love and condolences to the family. The group will meet Nina in heaven one day.

Rosa and Dean said: We are so shocked with Nina’s passing. We have to confess that it makes us sad knowing that we won't see her again. We truly enjoyed her company, her sweetness and great sense of humour. But we rejoice in knowing that she is enjoying eternal life with our Lord Jesus Christ. She will certainly be missed.
