In Celebration of

Janice Jackowski

August 14, 1954 -  October 5, 2017

It is with deepest heartache that we announce the passing of Janice Marie Jackowski (Darmaga) who died suddenly on October 5, 2017 at home, age 63. Born in Toronto, Janice had a tremendous amount of kindness for all people, was a lover of all animals, and truly had a heart of gold. She lived a very full life surrounded by a lot of love and happiness. As a mother, she raised two sets of twins to adulthood and was very proud of all her children. She was an entrepreneur, artist, adventurer, horsewoman, yachts woman, dog breeder, breeder of show cattle, and raised bison. She will be remembered driving around Caledon, King or Muskoka in either her H1 Hummer or her baby blue Porsche cabriolet. After developing crippling back pain at the cottage, and after several surgeries, she was left with chronic back pain. In the last few years she fought and won the battle with triple negative breast cancer. She loved her grandchildren with all of her heart and took great joy in interacting and spending time with them. She will be solemnly missed by her loyal four legged companions Alice, Tiffany, Fiona, Sammy, Frenchy, Suzy, Lushes, Teddy, Felix, Bridget, Franny, Morey, Charlie, Hank, Tara, Stella, Riley, Nella and Murphy the scarlet macaw. A true fighter, Janice overcame life’s hiccups and was looking forward to seeing her grandchildren grow up until God called her to heaven.
Janice is grieved by many, but especially Dr. George Jackowski her husband of 43 years, her daughter Rachelle and son in-law Garrett MacSweeney, her son Damian and daughter in-law Ann, her son Austin and his fiancée Gabby, and her son Wyatt. She will be joyfully remembered as a loving Babcia to Sophia, Garrett Jr. and Madeline MacSweeney. Predeceased by her father Edward Darmaga and her sister Marcia French, Janice will be sorely missed by her mother Sophie (Siwiec), sister Nancy Langer, in-laws Jerry & Maryla Jackowski, Howie and Jane French, her nieces and nephews, and all of her family and friends.
Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere east of the Jane subway from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Thursday, October 19th with Rosary Prayers at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 12 Denison Ave., on Friday, October 20th at 11 a.m. Interment Park Lawn Cemetery.

Thank God for the wonderful times although so short. Remember that very special light which shone beside you for it will always be with you until you meet again.God works wonders and even in the darkest of times a bright light will be found reminding you of her very special relationship with you. To you and your family that special light still shines in your heart as she would want you to remember her as your beacon in life
