In Celebration of

Jacob William Bowie

February 4, 1999 -  November 4, 2023

On Saturday, November 4th, we lost a son, a brother, a nephew, a cousin and a friend. He will be welcomed by his father Stephen, two aunts Kathleen and Nancy, and his grandparents Frank and Louise Bowie, Micheal Joynt, and Hessie Rousseau. Survived by his mother Karen, his two brothers Devon and Cameron, a bonus grandmother Melitta Joynt and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Jacob was at his happiest out in the woods, fishing with his beloved dog Raz. Raz was such a source of pride and joy for Jacob, a calming presence that loved him unconditionally.

So many people reached out in their own ways to offer him help, guidance, job opportunities, and above all patience and forgiveness, for that I am eternally grateful. He was always so amazed and in disbelief at the kindness of friends and especially new acquaintances. It confused him that people could be so kind.

He could never see what everyone else could – a compassionate, creative, intelligent, funny, kind soul, and when he smiled it was magic. Sometimes people can only see the big picture and not the baby steps needed to get there. It becomes overwhelming and unfortunately no matter how much love, encouragement, and support you are surrounded with you are unable to see it or receive it.

If only he could have got the sword from the stone.

Family and friends may join us at the Turner & Porter Neweduk-Erin Mills Chapel (1981 Dundas St. W, Mississauga) on Friday, November 24th, from 5-7 p.m. to celebrate and honour Jacob's life.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Jacob's memory can be made to Paws and Tails Adoptions (pawsandtailsadoptions@gmail.com).

A celebration of life is planned for the spring when a memorial bench will be placed at Promenade Meadows Park in his memory.

Jacob was such an intelligent, well spoken, funny and kind friend. I always enjoyed seeing how happy he was when we would get into deep conversations about the world and about animals. I loved to see how happy he was after a long day of work and to see him thriving! I will miss him dearly and I promise I will always be there to protect his mom and brothers and amazing animals forever. Thank you so much for all the laughs you are missed dearly and always will be❤️❤️❤️
