It is with deep sadness that we announce the Passing of Jack Leishman, who left us at the age of 89 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. Jack is survived by his two daughters Debbie Leishman (Jed MacKimmie - predeceased), Bonnie Leishman and his granddaughter Maegan MacKimmie-Taylor (Scott Taylor).
Jack was born in Lachute, Quebec where he grew up on a dairy farm. He was an active member of the 4H Club. When he wasn’t working on the dairy farm, he like to go fishing.
Years later, Jack met and fell in love with Margaret Gibbons. Shortly thereafter they married in 1958. They lived in Verdun for a few years before moving permanently to Lachute, Quebec where they raised their two daughters.
Jack worked in Montreal at Kenworth truck in the parts department. Then November 1990 they decided to move to Mississauga, ON where he continued to work at Kenworth truck until retirement.
Jack also enjoyed time gardening and fishing. After retirement he occupied his time delivering the Mississauga News on a weekly basis.
Many thanks to the compassion and support of the entire staff at Silverthorn Care Community in Mississauga.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated. Visitation will be on March 16th, from 10 AM to 11 AM. Chapel Service to follow at 11 AM with a reception following the service.
