Peacefully, with Ida, his beloved wife of 65 years, at his side, after a long goodbye that he faced with strength and dignity, in his home on Friday, July 28, 2017 in his 104th year. Loving and proud father of Caetan, Jennifer, Roy (Sarah) and Camila (Jitendra). He will be missed by his grandchildren Anthony, Olivia, Christina, Jonathan, Matthew and by his extended family and friends. A man of few words, Newton will always be remembered for excellent memory, his wit, his knowledge and a sharp mind till the end. May the Lord make His face shine on His faithful servant Newton and be gracious to him. May Newton pray for us and watch over us all. The family thanks the doctors and nurses of St Joseph’s Health Centre and the Dorothy Ley Hospice for their compassionate care. A Mass at will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, 3055 Bloor St. W, (west of Royal York Rd.) Toronto, on Thursday, August 3, 2017 2017, at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 7300 Highway #27. For those who wish, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society.
