Isaac died surrounded by his family on Monday July 10th, 2017 at his home. He will be deeply missed by his wife Jane Heath, his three daughters Hannah (Adam), Clara (Nicholas), and Emma, as well as his grandson Max. Isaac's kindness, warmth, and sense of humour will be remembered and missed by friends and family. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by his family.

A memorial will be held on September 10th at Swansea Town Hall (95 Lavinia Avenue, Toronto), in the Rousseau Room, from 2:30pm to 5:30pm. There will be a service running from 2:30pm to 3:30pm, and a chance for people to mingle and look at Isaac's art afterwards.
To avoid disrupting the service, attendants are asked to arrive right at 2:30pm. If they do not wish to attend the service, people are welcome to drop in anytime between 3:30pm and 5:30pm.

This is a terribly sad day. Isaac's brilliance and kindness live on in his scholarly work, his teaching, his art and his beautiful family.

It was with tremendous sadness that I heard of Isaac’s passing. He was a wonderful mentor when I started in the Psychology Department at Ryerson and a great colleague.

Over the past month I have had the incredible privilege of spending time with Isaac. His tremendous courage and his unfailing determination to ensure the well being of those he loved after his passing was inspiring. He lived his final weeks as he lived his life, taking care of others.

Isaac met my sister Jane and became part of our family when I was 9 years old. I thought he was the greatest guy ever. He looked like Tom Selleck, was so much fun and was always interested in listening to me and doing things with me- a really amazing grown up to me! He was willing to go on adventures in the woods with me- even though I got us lost (!); made a point of baking my favourite foods for me (pumpkin cake!), actually persuaded me that his middle name was indeed "Snackworthy", and would quickly magically sketch the funniest cartoons "just for me". Isaac always had a special way with kids, and I was the lucky early recipient of that talent. Growing up in a large family, Isaac was one of my special people, he made me feel truly loved and appreciated.I always felt that I was his little sister and knew he would be there for me in any way he could. So many memories.
