In Celebration of

Ida Collodel

July 31, 1927 -  August 3, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Ida Collodel announces her quiet and comfortable passing, at the end of a long life well-lived, on August 3, 2018, at the age of 91.

Born in Lutrano di Fontanelle, Treviso, Italy to Maria and Aurelio Antoniazzi on July 31, 1927, Ida, the oldest of five children, emigrated to Canada in 1955, and settled in Mississauga, where her home became a centre of hospitality for countless friends and relatives, and where her humour and compassion were appreciated by all.

She will forever be lovingly remembered by her daughters Mary Theresa (Greg), Rita (Andrew), Lina (Connor) and Christina (Marc) and her precious grandchildren, Christina, Joanna, Daniel, David, Nicholas, Marc, Olivia, Delaney and Julia. She will also be fondly remembered by her sisters Rosetta and Elena. Ida was predeceased by her husband, Luigi, and her brothers, Antonio and Giuseppe.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Blood Services would be greatly appreciated.

I was saddened to hear the news of Ida’s passing. Having known her all my life, I have many memories growing up with the Collodel family and Ida has been a staple in every single one of them. She was a strong, independent and fierce woman and I will miss her dearly. My condolences to Christina, Lina, Rita, Mary and their respective families. I hope you are comforted knowing she is now resting in peace.
