In Celebration of

Herbert George Ward

April 18, 1923 -  January 4, 2022

Went home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ January 4, 2022 at Humber River Hospital, Toronto, at the age of 98. Predeceased by Margaret, his beloved wife of 73 years. Loving father of David (Suzanne), Diane (Ralph) and Marilyn (Phil). Cherished grandfather of Daniel, Matthew (Miya), Andrew, Tanya (Greg), Dana (Matt), Megan (Michael), Julia (Steve), Deanna (Ben), Christy (Lloyd), Melissa (Mark), Heather (Graham) and 24 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Kenneth, Isabel, Ella, Joan.

Herbert was born and brought up in Black Cape, Quebec, the fourth of 13 children. He was a World War II veteran who retired after 38 years with Ontario Hydro. A humble man, he and his wife Margaret, quietly served the Lord at Hilltop Chapel as long as they were able. He was known for his love of family and friends as well as his wacky sense of humor. He will be missed so very much.

Due to the present restrictions a Private Family Service will take place. Although friends are not permitted to attend this service, condolences may be made through www.turnerporter.ca and the family would cherish your comments and memories.

For those who wish, donations may be made to MSC Canada for the feeding of needy children in Zimbabwe.

Herb was a gentleman in every sense of the word. A gentle, sweet man who always seemed to have a smile on his face, had a wonderful sense of humour and treated everyone with warmth and kindness. I enjoyed all my visits with Herb and especially appreciated hearing about his wartime experiences. To know Herb was to like and admire him.
