It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Henrietta D’Souza. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 22, 2026, in Mississauga at the age of 100 surrounded by her children and grandchildren. A beloved matriarch, centenarian, and cherished friend to many, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Born on October 15, 1925, in Goa, India, Henrietta was the daughter of the late Sebastiao Crisologo and Ana Celestina (Rosalina) Nazareth. Proud of her Goan roots, she immigrated to Kampala, where she met her husband in Nairobi. At a young age, she moved with her husband and their four children to England in search of a better life. In 1967, the family immigrated to Canada, where she built a warm and welcoming home in Mississauga.

Henrietta was predeceased by her loving husband, Peter D’Souza, with whom she shared 32 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and community. Peter and Henrietta were founding members of the Goan Overseas Association.

Henrietta was a devoted mother to Tony (Maryanne), Joyce (Michael), Sybil (Brian), and Ruth (Salazar). She was also a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren, and great-grandmother to four who affectionately knew her as “G.G.” Henrietta was a beloved sister to Beatrice Noronha (late), Ancy Nazareth (late), Flora Sequeira (late) and is survived by her younger sister, Jane Martins. She will be fondly missed by many extended family members and friends.

Henrietta will be remembered as a shining light in the lives of those around her, a woman of grace, warmth, faith and enduring love, who truly lived a full and meaningful life.
