<div itemprop="description"><br />Born October 19, 1919 in Hull, Quebec. Beloved wife of Elvin West (deceased 1995), and David Aiken (deceased 1943); much loved mother of Sharon MacLennan (Bill), Bonnie Brugger (Ed), Philip (Becky), and stepson Peter (Shirley); grandmother to Philip Squire (Andrew) passed away peacefully at The Westmount Long Term Care Facility in Kitchener, Ontario on Friday, November 1, 2013. Helen will be remembered as a wife, mother, aunt and grandmother in addition to a world traveler, librarian, fiddler, speed skater, skier, avid reader and a woman with an extraordinary love of life. Helen&rsquo;s legacy is her children. She contributed immensely to their lives, supporting them in their childhood endeavours (Sharon &ndash; swimming; Bonnie &ndash; her love of animals; Phil &ndash; sports and music) and sustaining them as they grew into adulthood. It is with great sadness that we bid her good bye, but she will forever be in our hearts and memories. The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the staff of The Westmount Long Term Retirement facility for their care of Helen in the last year of her life. In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome contributions to The Children&rsquo;s Wish Foundation in Helen&rsquo;s name.</div>
