Helen Papanikolaou

September 14, 1940 - February 23, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Helen Papanikolaou (nee Gkiokas) on February 23, 2016. Loving wife of Panagiotis (Peter). Devoted mother of Bob (Allison), Rozi (Jeff, predeceased) and Victoria (Roland). Doting grandmother of Daphne, Simon (predeceased) and Helena. Beloved sister of Anastasia, Ioannis, Constantine and predeceased siblings Giorgos and Panagiota. Cherished friend to many.

Born in Mati, Korinthias, Greece, and immigrating to Canada in 1963, Helen lived her life with courage, strength, compassion and character. She will be dearly missed by the Gkiokas, Tsementzis and Papanikolaou families.

Memorial donations may be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

I will always remember your mother's smiling, gentle face with such fondness and respect. She was a beautiful person, and a beautiful mother. You have always made her proud and given her joy, hold onto that for comfort.
