In Celebration of

Helen Albert Charles

September 5, 1922 -  May 6, 2021

The world lost a beaming Ray of Sunshine on Thursday, May 6th, 2021. Helen Charles was born to Beli Ram Joseph & Umer Bibi on September 5th, 1922 in a small town called 424 Chak, in Punjab. As a young, bright woman, she studied nursing at Mission Hospital in Quetta before marrying Albert Charles in the town of Gujrat on October 20th, 1944. They moved to Karachi in 1956, where they would raise their four children before immigrating to Canada in 1972. She now joins her late husband Albert Charles in heaven, who preceded her in death on March 31st, 1978.

Helen was the loving mother to four children whom she leaves behind: David (Shirin), Solomon (Meli), Edith & Ivan (Rani). She had 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren who loved her adoringly. Her family and close friends would spend hours listening to endless stories of her youth, as Helen had an incredibly vivid memory and a sharp recollection up until the very last month of her life. This, along with her strong will & Christian faith, was one of her many admirable qualities.

Helen Charles, wife (of the late Albert Charles), mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend leaves behind a legacy of hope, faith and love for all who knew her personally, and she will be greatly missed and eternally loved.

If desired, donations in Helen’s memory may be made to Sick Kids Hospital.

Private funeral arrangements entrusted to Turner & Porter Peel Chapel.
