In Celebration of

Hedwig Endl

October 18, 1930 -  October 5, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Hedwig Endl (nee Reidl) on October 5, 2025 at the age of 94 in Toronto, Ontario.

Predeceased by the love of her life Johann (Hans) Anton Endl, mother Maria Drescher, stepfather Johann Drescher and sister Victoria Reidl. Survived by 3 children Werner (Chris), Maryline (Douglas) and Peter. Lovingly remembered by her 6 grandchildren Andrew (Cindy), Matthew (Angelica), Kevin (Danielle), Michael (Sophie), Marc (Krista) and Oscar; her 8 great-grandchildren McKenna, Lyla, Lauren, Brielle, Alexander, Nolan, Giuliana, and Myles; and her extended family in Austria and Hungary.

Hedwig and her beloved husband Hans shared a beautiful life, immigrating to Toronto Canada from Weiner Neustadt, Austria in 1954. They enjoyed travelling, Euchre, Jolie card games, and Mensch Argere Dich Nicht game nights. Hedwig was an outstanding cook and baker. She loved music, gardening, needlepointing and putting together jigsaw puzzles. Most importantly, Hedwig was a proud โ€œhausfrauโ€ raising her family with love and devotion.

The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to the staff at Chartwell Grenadier for their compassionate care and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson Canada or the charity of your choice.

Visitation will be held at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, Toronto, one block east of Jane Subway, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 from 10 โ€“ 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11. A private family burial service will be held immediately after the service.

Dear Maryline and family,
I didnโ€™t know your Mother but remember listening to some stories when you and I used to teach at Albion.
I used to walk by her nursing home at High Park and wave in passing. My own Mother lived around the corner.
Sounds like your Mom had a good long life.
May she rest in peace with the rest of your family angels.
Love,
Daria and Peter
