Hazell Muriel Sloan passed peacefully on Wednesday, February 28th, just 2 weeks shy of her 98th birthday at Wellbrook Place in Mississauga.
Hazell was the Matriarch of the family and was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend throughout her life. She was born in Lachine, Quebec and moved to Toronto at age 50 where she continued to work tirelessly alongside her husband, Walter, in the company they built together. Hazell was a Grand Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star (Quebec), enjoyed playing golf at Whitlock in Hudson, Quebec, Lambton in Toronto & River Wilderness in Florida & also was a very competitive Duplicate Bridge player in Toronto & Florida.
Hazell was predeceased by her husband & best friend, Walter, of 68 years, and is the loving & proud mother to Deborah (Harold) and John (Lise). Cherished grandmother of Matthew (Rebecca) and Ashley (Dave) who both were the light of her life. Also survived by step-grandchildren James (Ivanka), and Danielle (Vincent), great-grandchildren River, Brielle, Jacob & Nathan as well as nieces and nephews.
Hazell lived life to its fullest and will be remembered for her dedication to family & friends.
The family will have a private funeral and welcomes donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or charity of your choice.
