In Celebration of

Harvey Hewgill

October 3, 1941 -  September 4, 2017

Passed away suddenly at home on Monday, September 4, 2017, just shortly before his 76th birthday. Beloved husband and best friend of Helen for 51 years. Much loved father of Julie and her husband Edward O’Rorke, Vanessa and her husband Bryan Jamieson, Joanna and her husband Andrew Quattrociocchi, and his late daughter Suzanne, who he will now join. Loving grandfather of Grace, Greer, Matthew, William and Keith. Dear son of the late Harold and Dora Hewgill. Dear brother of Geraldine, Glen (Butch), and the late Laverne and Kent; and brother-in-law of Jean and the late Betty. Harvey lived a full and happy life. He was a successful businessman that enabled him to work globally. Through his travels he visited many countries and had the opportunity to experience many cultures. After spending time in Bermuda and London, England, he settled in Mississauga and purchased his own business. Harvey was a proud business owner, hockey player, ball player, a devoted Green Bay Packers fan, but most of all a proud and loving husband and father. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter “Peel” Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St. (Hwy 10, north of the QEW) on Sunday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service to be held in the Chapel on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 1 p.m., followed by a reception at the funeral home. Interment to be held at the Maxwell Union Cemetery on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 12 noon. In Harvey’s memory, memorial donations may be made to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation at http://www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org/?referrer=https://www.google.ca/.

I am grateful for the short time i was able to spend with Harvey. i found him to be a true gentleman and a great ambassador for our baseball league and the many teams he sponsored. He will be sorely missed.

I worked with Harvey for so long I can't remember when I started. It would be hard to find another man as good, and fair as he was. He was a great Family Man, and Employer. He was very thoughtful. He cared for everyone. I worshiped my Father and I worshiped him at the very same high level. They were both gentlemen. I will miss his smile and his great cense of humour.

We're so sorry for your loss, Helen. You and your family will be feeling very shocked and sad, but will support each other with their love through this difficult time. I remember pleasant chats with Harvey at the neighbourhood shower for Craig and Emily, and at their wedding at our farm. He was such a friendly and interesting person. Again, we send you our sincere sympathy
