In Celebration of

Gwendolyn Jean Morris

March 27, 1931 -  May 19, 2017

Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital, on Friday May 19, 2017. Pre deceased by her husband Ralph, son Brian, and step-son Jeffery Morris (Corey). Survived by her daughter Reverend Sandra Ann Morris (Doodle). Gwen also had an extensive and loving chosen family. In the end the “other” children were with her. Caroline Faull, Tim McConvey, Diane Leah (Liz Gildner), Doreen Thibert (Heather Yanchus) Ann Lough and Gail Campbell. BFF Marnie Brown rounded out this wacky and wonderful family. If one were to name the love of Gwen’s life it would be words. Language. She had a hunger and thirst for knowledge of all kinds, and when she was able to, completed her education at the University of Toronto with a degree in English Literature, graduating in 1976. The family would like to thank all of the angels that came into Gwen’s life in the end. The staff at Del Manor, who eased her into her new and unexpected “next chapter”. Finally the amazing, compassionate and dedicated staff in Palliative care at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Gwen did not want a celebration of life, she wanted a FUNERAL. A funeral service will held at the Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto, 115 Simpson Avenue, Toronto, on Saturday May 27, 2017 at 1pm. Reception to follow. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto, Ministry of Mental Health would be greatly appreciated by the family.

To Sandra: I was so sorry learn of your Mother's death in the Globe and Mail. Reading it brought back fond memories of your parents' warm hospitality to me in their home. As you know, your Father had an important impact on my career and I have always been grateful to them both. My sincerest condolences on the loss of your Mother. Florence Campbell
