In Celebration of

Gordon Glen Mason

July 26, 1944 -  January 15, 2024

Passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital on January 15, 2024, at the age of 79, after a brief illness. Gordon was the father of Glen and James Mason, Samuel Mitson, and longtime friend of Kathy Mitson. Born in Toronto in July of 1944, Gord enjoyed calling the GTA his home for many years, most recently the Burlington community. He devotedly embraced health and exercise as a cornerstone of his lifestyle, and as a young adult worked and/or was associated with numerous gyms/health clubs. Gord also loved to travel, especially to warmer climates, finding solace spending time in the sun on the beach somewhere; whether it was in Florida, Mexico, or simply the Toronto Island. A longtime paramedic with Toronto Paramedic Services (formerly Toronto EMS), Gord dedicated his life to helping others. Generosity of heart was a foundational driving force in his life, and his spirit larger than life. His memory will be eternally carried in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., on Saturday, April 13th from 1:30-3:00 p.m. with a Service of Remembrance to follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Donations to The Peoples’ Church in Toronto, or a charity of your choice are appreciated.

So sorry to hear of Gord’s unexpected passing. A lot of fond and funny memories both on the job, and at Vic Tanny’s back in the 80’s. Gord certainly had a great attitude towards keeping fit. I watched Gord do sit ups for over an hour on an incline board barely breaking sweat. He always washed the ambulance using his hands, and when I asked why, he replied the cover more area than the brushes we used. Big Mits for sure.
To all Gords family , my heartfelt condolences.
R.I.P. my friend.

I remember working a shift with Gord in SW and leaving St. Joe's we passed by his place.
He had a beautiful white Bentley in his driveway, always a great talking point.
Rest in Peace Gord, and my condolences to Kathy and all of your family.
