In Celebration of

Gordana Zah

October 8, 1964 -  September 29, 2025

With profound sadness, I announce the passing of my beloved Gordana Zah on September 29, 2025, at the age of 60. Gordana was a cherished partner, daughter, sister, aunt, stepmom, devoted educator, and loyal friend. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Born on October 8, 1964, in Belgrade, Serbia, Gordana’s journey in life was marked by intellectual curiosity and an immense capacity for love. A lifelong educator, she found her true passion as an English professor at the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Humber Polytechnic. She enriched the lives of countless students with her sharp intellect, insightful wit, and compassionate guidance.

Our life together, built over 25 years, was filled with shared adventures, quiet moments, and the unconditional love of our canine companions. Our love was a constant source of joy and strength, and I am grateful for every moment we had. Her light will continue to shine in my heart forever.

Gordana was a loving stepmom to my children: Sasa, Marko, and Tanja. She did not like the term "stepmom" and refused to be called that. Rightfully so, as she was far from the typical stereotype of a stepmother. She was caring, loving, and compassionate. She was simply ‘Goca’, patient and selflessness, always being there for them.

Gordana was a true dog lover, and our home was always filled with the warmth and happiness that our four-legged family members brought. She often said that her dogs taught her as much about loyalty and simple joy as any book ever could.

She will be remembered for her persistent strength, unwavering loyalty, generosity, and selflessness. Her warmth, intelligence, and humor will remain a guiding light for her family, friends, and the many students whose lives she touched.

She is lovingly survived by her father, Miodrag; her sibling, Vladimir; her nephew, Luka; her niece, Mia; me, her lifelong partner, Boban; kids: Sasa, Marko, and Tanja, along with their families and many extended family members and friends.

A visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario Street, from 7:00–9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gordana’s memory may be made to the Toronto Humane Society or your local animal shelter.

I am at a loss for words.

Ever since I met you, you have been a fighter and a pillar of strength for those around you. I am devastated by your departure, but also thankful that you are now at peace.

I will miss you dearly, and I hope we meet again in the next life.

Love you always,
Pearline

Dušo naša,
Premalo je trajalo naše drugarstvo, sve one dane i večeri koje si nam podarila strpljivio i s osmehom, sada vidim, nisu dovoljni, jer si nas prerano napustila.
Neizmerno ti hvala, neka ti je laka zemlja !
