Gloria June Boland, 92, of Mississauga, Ontario passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. June was truly “the wind beneath our wings” to everyone she met. Her warmth, optimism, and unwavering love left a lasting imprint on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
June shared 67 beautiful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Gilbert Lee Boland. Together, June and Gil were two peas in a pod—best friends and lifelong adventurers. They loved spontaneous road trips, jumping in the car and heading wherever the road took them. Their travels spanned Canada, the United States, and destinations abroad, creating countless memories along the way.
One of June’s greatest joys in life was her three daughters, whom she adored fiercely and without condition. She was their biggest cheerleader—fearlessly loyal, endlessly encouraging, and always ready with her trademark optimism. “Tomorrow is a new day” she would say, reminding everyone that the glass was not just half full, but totally full. Her words—“Do it! You can do it!”—lifted spirits and inspired confidence.
June was empathetic, intuitive, and deeply kind. She had a rare ability to make people feel safe, heard, and loved. Her smile could light up a room, and her home—beautifully decorated, filled with flowers, music, and the aroma of home-cooked meals—was the heart of the family. She loved cooking, entertaining, dancing, music (especially Elvis), fashion, home decorating, and tending to her beloved rose garden. Her hobbies also included keeping in close touch with others by corresponding regularly, expressing herself through the thoughtful art of elegant penmanship.
Extremely generous with her time and love, June encouraged those around her to take care of themselves and to treat themselves well. Her hope was infectious, her spirit warm, and her love steadfast.
June was a proud and loving mother to Deborah Boland, husband Ian Darcel, and their children Harrison, Brandon, and Ashleigh; Sharon Crowe and husband Mark Crowe, and their children Chantal, Dalton, and Ethan; and Sandra Boland, her wife Colleen Hough, and their son Thomas Hough. Above all, June took special joy in her grandchildren, delighting in their lives, milestones, and everyday moments.
In her later years, as June needed additional support, she was surrounded by a team of exceptional caregivers who became like family to her. She was deeply grateful for the tender loving care, kindness, and dedication of Tess, Mei, Gloria, Aileen, Celsa, Joanne, Julieta, and Rose.
June will be remembered as a generous and loving person whose kindness, optimism, and joyful spirit touched countless lives. She leaves behind a legacy of love, hope, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
