We were shocked to hear of Gladys passing, and our sincerest condolences go out
to you all.
We didn't see much of her; but, did see her briefly last week while her Nephew was
giving her a hand to put the patio furniture away.
She will be missed.
May she rest in peace.

Though it's literally been decades since I last was invited to join Mike and Lisa in a visit to their Aunt and Uncle's home, it still brings back memories. I know how much love my two childhood friends had for their Aunt; indeed all of their family. I am sincerely sorry for your loss. Love you two. XO Dave.

Gladys Simmons

Entered February 8, 2019

Gladys is Sunday crosswords:
neat, capital letters pencilled in.
Gladys is full of adventure:
motorcycles, boats and planes.
Gladys is an I've missed-you hug hello
and an I can't-wait-to-see-you again
squeeze goodbye.
Gladys is a martini (or two, or three)
-it's four o'clock somewhere!
Gladys is an excellent conversation,
a stirring debate.
Gladys is a chocolate lover.
Gladys is a generous and caring Auntie, great-aunt,
stepmother, and grandmother.
Gladys is a loving wife to Paul.

Gladys is all of these things and more,
much more than ink on a page can ever capture.
She is, not was; we will always remember,
and in that, she will always be with us.
