With deep sadness and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Giovanni De Zen, who peacefully left us at the age of 95 on December 16th, 2024.


Beloved husband of 64 years to the late Teresa De Zen (2020), dear father of Rosemary (Rocco) Palmieri and Sandro De Zen. Loving grandfather of Carmela (Brock) Darling, Mark (Julia) Palmieri, Lisa Palmieri and Andrew De Zen. Admired bisnonno of James and Isla Darling, and Gabriel and Theodora Palmieri. Giovanni will be greatly missed by his brothers Vittorio (Angelina) and Santino, his many nieces and nephews and all of his family.


A man of unwavering strength, dedication, and love, Giovanni and Teresa came to Canada and spent their life building a legacy of hard work, integrity and devotion to their family. He dedicated his life to providing for those he loved. He exemplified the values of diligence and resilience in his everyday life and he set an exceptional standard of hard work for everyone to follow and admire.


His family will always remember his soft and endearing side, his sense of humour and how he greatly enjoyed the simple things in life, with those he loved. He was loved by all of his family and friends and will be greatly missed.


Our heartfelt thanks to Loretta and Minnie for their exceptional care and friendship over the last few years.
